President of the Turkish Olympic Committee Prof. Dr. Uğur Erdener was re-elected as President of World Archery for a fifth term after receiving 190 votes out of 191 votes with one person abstraining at the 54th World Archery Congress held in Yankton, USA, South Dakota.
When Prof. Dr. Uğur Erdener was elected President of World Archery for his first term in 2005, he became the first Turkish person to be elected as the International Federation President of an Olympic sport. Prof. Dr. Uğur Erdener has also been the President of the Turkish Olympic Committee since 2011. Prof. Dr. Uğur Erdener, who has also been an International Olympic Committee (IOC) Member since 2008 and served as the IOC's Vice-President between 2016-2020, also serves as the Chairman of the IOC Health and Science Commission, the Chairman of the IOC Youth Olympic Games Advisory Committee, and a Member of the Board of Directors Representing the Olympic Movement at the World Anti-Doping Association (WADA). Prof. Dr. Uğur Erdneer is also a Member of the Board of Founders, an IOC Representative at International Testing Agency (ITA) and the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) Vice President.
Prof. Dr. Ugur Erdener, who will serve as President of World Archery until 2025 said, “Thank you for your great support and trust in me, once again, and our Executive Board, and our great team.
