The Turkish Olympic Team consists of 50 female and 58 male athletes aiming for Olympic glory across 18 sports at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 which is set to be held from 23 July to 8 August.
Tokyo 2020 will bring together thousands of the world’s greatest athletes for a celebration of sport and humanity. Sports fans from across the globe are waiting eagerly to witness incredible feats of sporting excellence and their favourite athletes on sport’s biggest international stage.
Every single Team Türkiye athlete has been working tirelessly over the past five years to train and prepare for the Games. They are ready to compete at the highest level to leave their mark in Olympic history.
Following some two years of Olympic qualification, Turkey’s national athletes earned 108 quota places at the Games. They will represent Turkey in 18 sports, including: archery, artistic gymnastics, athletics, badminton, boxing, cycling, fencing, judo, karate, modern pentathlon, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, taekwondo, weightlifting, wrestling and volleyball.
Whilst Turkish female boxers will compete at the Olympics for the first time, Turkish karatekas will leave their mark by winning the first ever medals in Olympic karate.
